Paper Issues: Pinspire Me Monday

Today I have a layout up over on the Paper Issues blog. I found a really fun pin that I was inspired by and am inviting others to share what they create as well.

This is the awesome pin I found courtesy of Better Home and Gardens

There were so many things I liked about this image. I decided to focus more on the strips of pattern and overall color scheme.

I used items largely from the Maggie Holmes Open Book collection,
as well as some Studio Calico paper from my stash.

If you are looking for some awesome paper products and need a good store to shop at. Look no further, I know of a great store, and I even have a coupon code for you to use as well! Head on over to the Paper Issues Shop and if you use code "TONI" at checkout you will receive 20% off your entire order.

Project Life 2014: Week 35

Happy Tuesday! It's time for another Project Life share and I am so happy to have another week finished in my album.

I have to be completely honest though. I was feeling very discouraged this past weekend, when I realized that the six weeks I was behind on in September (has now turned into 8 missing weeks in my album.) Gasp. Yes, really. I had a goal to be caught up by October and it did not happen. This left me feeling so incredibly frustrated and kind of upset with myself.

And then....I thought about it. Really thought about it.

This is my fourth year of doing Project Life. My 2011 albums are a little hit and miss, but I have tons of memories documented. My 2012 albums are almost done, and my 2013 albums are complete. I also have everything finished for the first half of 2014, so why was I being so hard on myself? Why do we always focus on what isn't done instead of rejoicing in what is?

For this reason, I am stating that I currently have 37/45 weeks complete with photos and journaling and I love it. My family and I look at these albums All. The. Time. These albums are shown to friends and family members, and you know what? I all that time of sharing memories, not one person has ever pointed out a missing week. I am the only person that gets hung up on that.

If you are "behind" on your Project Life album. Just stop beating yourself up. Any documentation is better than none.

If you are documenting anything (no matter how small) that is awesome. If all you ever do is 1 Project Life layout in your life. That is awesome. Scrapbooking matters. Our memories matter. Anything towards this goal of documentation....matters.

Now onto week 35

Lucky: A Scrapbook Layout using American Crafts Amy Tangerine Stitched

 Happy Thursday!

I have a sick kiddo at home, so this is going to be quick today. I meant to share this yesterday, but needless to say, things have been a little crazy around here.

I made a layout using the new Amy Tangerine Stitched collection. I am really loving all of the pieces and bits in this fun and vibrant collection and had a lot of fun last week playing around.

I also have a Scrapbooking Process Video on My You Tube Channel on how I made this layout. You can find that video HERE. Please consider subscribing if you like what you see :-) Please and Thank You. I cannot believe I already have 330 subscribers. It has been so much fun making videos and seeing how much others are liking them. I have found the You Tube community very supportive and just so much fun!

If you are interested in buying any of the Amy Tangerine Stitched collection or anything else for your paper crafting needs, you can get 20% off your entire order if you use the code "TONI" when shopping at Paper Issues.*I do receive a small commission in the form of store credit for anyone that uses my code. This is used to buy product for projects you see both on this blog and on You Tube. Thank you for your support.

Have a great rest of the week. I will have some more Project Life pages and a layout going up on the blog next week. I also hope to find some time to work on my Week in the Life album, and if if possible to share that on the blog next week as well. Wish me luck, and until next time....

Project Life 2014: Week 43

It's Tuesday and that means it's time to share some more Project Life pages. I have just one week for you today, but I am super excited that it is a current week.  I have been making lots of progress in my Week in the Life album and once that is finished I will share that and get back to catching up on Project Life.

This week I tried screen printing using the small star screen in the Studio Calico The
Underground Project Life Kit. I used gold acrylic paint and a white piece of cardstock
sized 4 x 6 inches. It is a very fun technique, and I highly recommend trying it. All you
need is paint or mist, paper, and an old gift card to move the paint around.

Supplies Used this week:

How are you coming along in your Project Life album? Are you trying any new or fun techniques lately that you want to share? I would love to hear about it.

Until next time....

#30 Days of Thankful: My Detailed Plan

Happy Thursday! I am back today to share with you some items I have pulled and my plan for approaching a 30 Days of Thankful album. I hope this might give you some ideas, and inspire you to focus on gratitude next month.

I have documented 30 Days of Thankful the past three years. The first two were done on Facebook with daily messages. Last year, I documented gratitude every single day and posted corresponding photos on Instagram. I printed all of these photos into a large collage and made a corresponding layout last year.

In the journaling, I wrote down every single one of the things I was thankful for. I ended up with
29 photos, because I inadvertently mentioned Project Life twice. I just made that a
larger photo and moved on. I love how it turned out.

This year I will also be using my I-phone to take photos and posting those on Instagram using the hashtag #30DaysOfThankful. The difference is that this year I plan on making a mini album with all of my photos. I have a few of the Instagram albums, and I am just itching to use one already. Another of my Instagram albums will be used for a summer mini/ favorite things from 2014 (which I still haven't done, ahem, cough, cough, but I digress.....)

These are the supplies I have pulled together to make a 30 Days of Thankful Mini Album

1. Album: I have it narrowed down to two Instagram albums. I am not quite sure which way I am going to go, but either will work.

Unfortunately this one is sold out, but there are many
other cute Instagram albums in at Paper Issues.

2. Paper:
Fancy Pants True Friend 6x6 paper pad

3. Flair Badges from my Etsy Shop:

4. Other products pulled:
I hope this post inspired you to think about taking on a 30 Days of Thankful album, scrapbook layout, or pocket page. I think this album will be one that my family and I flip through time and time again. I

If you are in the market for supplies for a fall project, album, or anything else pretty paper related. I have left links to all of the supplies I pulled above. If you shop at Paper Issues and use the code "TONI" you will receive 20% off of all of your items. Disclaimer: *I do receive a small compensation if you shop at Paper Issues and use my code. Hello Flash: A Layout using Gossamer Blue's On My Desk

Happy Wednesday! I have a layout to share with you today that I created for a Product Spotlight feature over on the Paper Issues blog. I used the Gossamer Blue On My Desk supplies I  had already ordered, and I had such a great time!

I am seriously in love with this collection. The papers, ephemera, labels, and puffy stickers are right up my alley. I also adore the package of 3x4 gold foil transparencies. All of these products will definitely be making a Project Life appearance as well, not to mention some more layouts I plan on making.

For today though, I focused on a single image of our new ferret. My husband has wanted a ferret since he was a child, and earlier this month he made that dream a reality. Flash is pretty darn cute and we are having a lot of fun playing with him.

Products used from Gossamer Blue On My Desk:
Other products used:
  • American Crafts white cardstock (trimmed down to 8.25x 10.75 inches
  • American Crafts shadow cardstock (trimmed down to 8.5 x 11 inches
  • American Crafts dot roller adhesive
  • Versafine Ink in Onyx Black
  • Pebbles date stamp
  • Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher
  • American Crafts colored staples (I used gold)
  • Needle and Thread
  • Printer used for journaling (American Typewriter font)
If you would like to see what my fellow Design Team members Sherry Funk, Amy Close, and Brenda Smith created using Gossamer Blue products, please check out THIS post over at the Paper Issues Blog. They all are seriously talented and really rocked Gossamer Blue this month!

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I appreciate you being here. I will be back tomorrow with a look at my plan for making a #30DaysOfThankful mini album. I sure hope to see you back here.
