Layouts Within Limits: Part 2

Welcome to week two of a three part series in which myself and other scrappers/ bloggers (senoritascrapper from senoritaml.wordpress.com and Danielle Higginbottom-Brown from piperloo.blogspot.com) are playing along with a Glitter Girl Challenge. Today we are all sharing our second layout from Glitter Girl's challenge from Wednesday April 10th entitled, "Layouts within Limits." For this challenge, Glitter Girl suggestions that scrapbookers can create many layouts using a formula designed to show how versatile our supplies are. This formula (created by the infamous Glitter Girl) as well as an amazing 38 minute scrapbook video can be found at the Two Peas in a Bucket website here. I strongly encourage all scrapbookers to watch this video, it truly is very eye-opening as to how much we can make with very little supplies (relatively speaking.)

Following Glitter Girl's layout formula, these are the supplies I pre-chose to create three layouts with.

My three background papers: Color conspiracy and 2 Studio Calico papers from Here and There.

All chosen papers: More Studio Calico from Here and There, plus some from Snippets, and American Crafts Soho Garden.

All of my supplies grouped together: Lots of Studio Calico from Snippets and Here and There, as well as some Studio Calico exclusives. My Mind's Eye enamel dots, Snap label stickers and small letters.

Other tools I chose: (punches below) and not pictured Mister Huey in inky black and opaque white.

Now back to the original background papers paired up with my pictures in order left to right; layout 1, layout 2, and layout 3:

Here is what I came up with for my first layout (you saw this last week here.:)

Here is layout #2 using the above pictured supplies again:

And a couple of close-ups for you:

My first guest blogger, senoritascrapper, also pre-chose all of her supplies, but she made this decision largely based on color. She says that she has been working with a lot of blue lately, so she wanted to switch things up and used more yellows for these layouts. The products she chose are left over from Studio Calico's Lost Boys and Toe Stop add-on kits as well as Noel Mignon's Daffodil Scrapbook Kit.

Here is the first layout senoritascrapper created:

And here is her second layout:

I love her second layout as well....I mean those speech bubbles are so stinkin' cute and I adore how she put words in each one that were significant to her story. I also really like the incorporation of wood veneer speech bubbles and of course (my favorite) enamel dots.  Her journaling is so personal, and it really tells a story.  I just love it so much!

Next up, is Danielle Higginbottom-Brown from piperloo. She chose a completely different set of materials to create her layouts with as well. Largely, her supplies were from chose from things she had in her stash that needed to be used.

Danielle's supplies:

Here is Danielle's layout:

And a close-up:

I love the eclectic mix of materials that Danielle chose: The background paper is adorable and it really goes nicely together with the picture of her son sleeping with a truck. I also adore the embossed houses, it's really cool that they still look wet even though I know they are not. I also like that she scrapped in 8.5 x 11 inch size, something I am having a hard time with lately.

I really hope that you enjoyed our blog hop. Thank you Senoritascrapper and Danielle for playing along with me. Next week Senoritascrapper, Danielle, and I will be back to share our third layout created with the kits we created using the Layouts Within Limits idea by Glitter Girl.  We would love it if any of you would like to join in as well and link us to your layouts in the comments. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Happy Scrappin,

xoxox
