Project Life 2014: Weeks 25 & 26

Happy Tuesday! I have two pages of Project Life to share with you today and am excited to tell you that I have finished my entire first album for 2014. I am caught up all the way through June 30th and could not be more excited about having all of my families memories recorded!

I am still on vacation in Washington State with my family and am having some major PC/ photo uploading and editing issues. Regardless, we are all having a great time and I just took my layout photos with my I-phone via blogger and called it good enough.  :-)  the important thing is making memories and documenting it and the rest is a bonus.

I will be back later this month with some more crafty goodness to share. Until then....

Focusing on One Day in Project Life

Happy Thursday from gorgeous Washington State. I am sitting in my mom's scrapbook room right now, and just so happy to be here with family and friends. I worked on a Project Life page very early this morning (I am still very much on East Coast time.) I have a one page pocket page to share today that focuses on only one day. I incorporated a lot of my favorite filler cards and I just love how it turned out:  Photos, some heartfelt journaling, and pops of fun embellishments seems to be my happy place.

I focused on one fun and very ordinary day in our lives using some favorite photos of the kids in the pool, one of our smallest dog, and even a rare photo of myself. I focused on using the colors of blue to match the photos and pops of gold, because well I love all things gold. I also used some fun journaling cards and that veneer camera from a Studio Calico Kit months ago that I have been hoarding.

Seriously these kids just have my whole heart, and that awesome
veneer camera and gold puffy heart could not be more perfect!

Thank you for stopping by my little slice of blogland today, I appreciate you being here. I will be spending the long weekend with my amazing family, eating barbecue, and making sure my kids stay safe amidst the arsenal of fireworks my husband and father purchased for the annual 4th of July extravaganza. I hope that whatever your plans are this weekend, be it celebrating Independence Day or otherwise, that you have a good one.

I will be back next weekend with a 4th of July recap, some Project Life pages, and some layouts to share. I sure hope to see you then.

Until next time....

June Recapitulation

Can you believe that 2014 is already 1/2 over...seriously how did that happen? This month has been a good one for my family. Our kids finished up school for the year (finishing 4th and 8th grade and did great in their classes.) We have spent time at the pool, one went to camp, one went on vacation, and Eric and I had a few days to ourselves. It was pretty great, even though we stayed home and hung out (except when he went to work.)

In other news of the scrappy variety, this past week there was some very sad news, Two Peas in a Bucket announced they were closing their doors. I loved looking at the galleries there and the awesome inspiration from the Garden Girls....and the fabulous videos full of inspiration, oh how I will miss them.

I fully admit at still being a little blue after this announcement, but accepting I guess. In the last year my two favorite places have closed (Archiver's and Two Peas in a Bucket.) It is so disheartening to see such great companies close their doors. It makes me wonder if it is perceived by others outside of the scrapbooking world that paper crafting is not valued? That crafters creations are not valued...be it cards, scrapbooking, Project Life, art books, sewings, and what not. It's something to think about.

Regardless of outsiders perception of scrapbooking, I know that scrapbooking will be around as long as we keep creating and sharing with one another. I plan on doing just that, every week here on this blog. Long live paper crafts!

If you are new to my blog, or missed a post, here are all of the blog topics covered this month. Just click on any link below and it will take you right back to the original blog post. :-)
I will be blogging all month, but from an entirely different location...Washington State to be exact. My family and I are currently in our home state visiting some amazing peeps! I will still be blogging and already have a couple posts prepped, so please keep stopping by. :-)

I have a lot of plans for this blog that will be coming up this fall.  A huge list of ideas and things already in the works since the first of this year, and I can't wait to share later. I appreciate you so much being here and sharing this little slice of blogland with me. It really means a lot to have so much support in my crafty (and other endeavors.) Thank You. Thank You. Thank You.

Until next time,

Happy Scrappin'
